Solus Christus is the central truth that binds all other points of the five solas. Christ is the heart of the Bible, and sola fide is only possible because Jesus Christ, the Righteous One, died in our place. When we affirm “Christ only,” we declare that Christ is central to Christian faith. Without Christ, there is no Christianity. His death on the cross is sufficient to atone for our sins. There is no need for additional rites to atone for our sins. He is the Only Mediator between God and man. All the saints play no role in our salvation. Jesus alone is the Savior. As the apostles said in Acts 4:12 that there is no salvation outside Christ. There is no salvation outside the preaching of Christ and the cross. That was why the apostles were adamant to preach Christ despite the threat and warning against them. The exclusivity of Christ might sound politically incorrect, but it is the biblically correct understanding of salvation. I pray that all of us will unashamedly and boldly tell the world that Jesus alone is the Way. Solus Christus!
