Death is a temporary separation of body and soul because there will be the resurrection of the body. A believer will be given a glorified, imperishable body, while an unbeliever will be given perishable body to suffer eternal punishment in body and soul. We believe in the resurrection of the body because we believe in the resurrection of Christ (1 Corinthians 15:13, 20). Believers will be raised to eternal life with Christ in heaven. Heaven will not be a boring place because we will serve, worship, and stand in awe of God all the time. It is a place of endless joy because of Christ’s presence. Jesus Christ is what makes heaven heaven. This is the true foundation of Christian hope.
